As a second-generation makeup artist, Carrie Strahle lives and breathes her art in Portland, Oregon. She enjoys challenging herself every day as she helps people look their best.
Carrie’s journey in the beauty industry began in 1991 when she started working for Lancôme Cosmetics. During her years at Lancôme, she shared her knowledge and skills as a traveling regional makeup artist around the Pacific Northwest. She took pride in her work as she managed multiple Macy’s makeup counters and won numerous awards. Her industriousness allowed her to earn a bachelor of science degree in Food Marketing and a minor in Japanese from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
She spent five years working in Tokyo and Los Angeles as a commercial and runway model in television and print while teaching makeup artistry at Takayama Beauty School in Tokyo. Modeling gave her experience on both sides of the camera and prepared her to work more knowledgeably with models later. Living internationally provided Carrie with a broader view of fashion as well as an ability to quickly adapt and learn in changing situations -- something that’s serving her clients well today.
Carrie doesn’t believe in a cookie-cutter approach to makeup and hair styling. She looks at each individual and adapts looks to their features to best enhance their beauty.
